About FlexRateHub

FlexRateHub is an independent website that publishes free tools and plain-English guides for freelancers, contractors and independent consultants. Our flagship tool, the Freelance Hourly Rate & Take-Home Calculator, was built to answer a question almost every new freelancer asks: “What should I charge?”

Why we built it

Most rate advice stops at dividing a salary by 2,080 hours. That ignores self-employment tax, unpaid time off, health insurance, retirement savings and the hours spent finding and managing clients. We wanted a calculator that shows those pieces openly, so people can see where their money goes and price their work with confidence.

How we work

• Transparent methods. We explain every formula on the calculator page and the tax guide, and we cite IRS and Social Security Administration sources.
• Privacy first. The calculator runs entirely in your browser. The numbers you enter are never sent to our servers.
• Corrections welcome. Tax rules change each year. If you find an outdated figure or an error, tell us and we will review it promptly.

FlexRateHub is an educational resource. We are not a law firm, accounting firm or financial adviser, and we are not affiliated with the IRS or any government agency. Our content does not create a professional relationship. Please consult a licensed CPA, enrolled agent or attorney for advice about your own circumstances.

How the site is funded

FlexRateHub is free to use. We may display advertising, including ads served by Google AdSense, to cover hosting and development costs. Ads are labeled, and they never influence the results our calculator produces. See our Privacy Policy for details.
